Join Snowfest’s 43rd Annual Celebration in North Lake Tahoe February 26 through March 9!
The Tahoe SNOWFEST Festival offers everything from ski town nightlife to outdoor family-friendly events. There will be something for all visitors with 40 mountain-town events held in North Lake Tahoe from Wednesday, February 26 through Sunday, March!
The Festival begins at Garwoods where the Blues Monsters featuring Kendall Naughton will be rocking the night away!
Tickets are available online for $50 or $60 at the door. They include food, music, wet woodies, beer, wine and collector edition SNOWFEST beads.
The party is from 5:00pm to 10:00pm at Garwoods located at 5000 N Lake Blvd in Carnelian Bay.
Following are some of the remaining SNOWFEST Events:
Friday, February 28: Benefit the Lake Tahoe Ski Club Foundation at the Valley Throwback Party. It will be held at the legendary Le Chamois and Loft Bar with a DJ, drinks and food. This is the 75th anniversary of the ski area in The Valley.
The benefit is from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the La Chamois & Loft Bar located at 1960 Olympic Valley Rd in Olympic Valley.
Saturday, March 1: There are several exciting events today starting with the Pancake Breakfast held by the North Tahoe Firefighters Association followed by the Tahoe City Street Fair with Firetrucks, equipment and North Tahoe Fire Department merch for sale. A delicious way to support the local firefighters with low cost of $10 per adult and $5 per child (under 12).
The breakfast will be held from 7:00am to 11:00am at the Tahoe City Fire Station located at 222 Fairway Dr in Tahoe City.
Saturday, March 1: The Frozen Pickle Pickleball Tournament Cup’s 1st Annual event kicks off at the Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe from 8:00am to 5:00pm. There are three divisions: men’s doubles, women’s doubles and adult/child doubles and the fees are $60/residents * $80/non-residents.
The tournament will be held from 8:00am to 5:00pm at The Boys & Girls Club of Kings Beach which is located at 8125 Steelhead Ave in Kings Beach.
Saturday, March 1: Garwood’s Annual Polar Bear Swim starts at 12:00pm and finishes at 4:00pm. It will be held at Garwoods Grill & Pier on Lake Tahoe located at 500 N Lake Blvd in Carnelian Bay.
Saturday, March 1: The festivities continue at the Tahoe City Golf Course with a Firework show accompanied by music with the NOMADS starting at 5:30pm.
This is the only fireworks show on Lake Tahoe’s North Shore starting at approximately 7:00pm. It will take place at the Tahoe City Golf Course located at 251 N Lake Blvd in Tahoe City.
Sunday, March 2: The Great Ski Race is one of the largest cross-country ski races on a 26km course; and it is the main fundraising event for the Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue Team.
Hosted by the Tahoe XC Center, the race starts at 9:00am at the XC Center located at 925 Country Club Dr in Tahoe City. Visit https://thegreatskirace.com for more details.
Sunday, March 2: The Tahoe City Dog Pull is hosted by Alpine Power Equipment, benefiting Palisades Avalanche Dogs. It will be held at the Tahoe City winter sport park (3rd fairway of golf course, directly behind Pete & Peter’s) from 11:00am to 1:30pm.
Sunday, March 2: Tail Wagger Best Trick Competition will begin immediately following the Dog Pull contest from 1:30pm to 3:00pm.
Sunday, March 2: The Sunnyside Luau takes place from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Sunnyside Restaurant located at 1850 W Lake Tahoe Blvd in Tahoe City. Monday, March 3: Za’s 9th Annual Clam Bake will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Za’s Lakefront located at 120 Grove St in Tahoe City. Purchase tickets directly through Za’s. The $30 price per plate includes 1 lbs steamed clams, half chicken, corn and potatoes.
Monday, March 3: Day 1 of the Milk Jug Curling Qualifying is from 6:00pm to 10:00pm at the Tahoe City Winter Sports Park located at 251 N Lake Blvd in Tahoe City. Teams of 4 complete to see who can slide their milk jugs across the ice to a target to gain points until one team reaches 15 points. The finals are on Friday, March 7.
Tuesday, March 4: Pete n’ Peter’s Bar Olympics take place from 7:00pm to 11:00pm. Teams play a combo of bar games including pool, shuffleboard and darts. Pete n’ Peters is located at 395 N Lake Blvd in Tahoe City.
Wednesday, March 5: Poppy’s “brain freeze” ice cream eating contest is from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the Fairway Community Center located at 331 Fairway Dr in Tahoe City. There are three age categories and tickets are $8.00.
Wednesday, March 5: The Palisades Tahoe Town League Race Series runs every Wednesday night starting March 5 through April 9. Local racers from all levels compete and showcase their skiing and snowboarding skills. The event will be held at Palisades Tahoe-base area and KT Deck located at 1960 Olympic Valley Rd in Olympic Valley.
Wednesday, March 5: The Milk Jug Curling Qualifying continues with day 2 from 6:00pm to 10:00pm at the Tahoe City Winter Sports Park located at 251 N Lake Blvd in Tahoe City. The finals are on Friday, March 7.
Wednesday, March 5: Try your luck at Rosie’s Black Out Bingo from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Rosie’s Café located at 571 N Lake Blvd in Tahoe City.
Thursday, March 6: Don’t miss out on Tahoe Tap Haus’s second Annual Hot Wing Eating Contest from 4:00pm to 6:00pm! For a $20 buy-in, participants face three escalating levels of heat in just 5 minutes. Tahoe Tap Haus is located at 475 N Lake Blvd in Tahoe City.
Thursday, March 6: It’s the PROM for all! Relive your “Glory Days” at the Tahoe City Winter Sports Park located at 251 N Lake Blvd in Tahoe City from 6:30pm to 10:00pm. Dance and skate the night away to local favorites Tim High and the MIGHTY.
Friday, March 7: Showcase your skills and throw down your best tricks at the Diamond Peak Village Terrain Park to win awesome prizes across a variety of categories. The event will be held at Donner Peak Ski Area located at 999 Tahoe Blvd in Incline Village from 9:30am to 3:30pm. After, head to UNR’s Lake Tahoe campus for live music and winter treats!
Friday, March 7: The Ice Sculpture Competition will be held at Alibi Ale Works from 12:00pm to 7:00pm. Ice carvers, with a maximum of 2 individuals per team, have 5 hours to sculpt their blocks to the theme of Truckee Big Life. The location of Alibi Ale Works is 10069 Bridge St in Truckee and the event is sponsored by the Truckee River Winery. Registrations forms should be emailed to: katy@truckeefamilywines.com.
Friday, March 7: There are several additional exciting evening events:
4:00pm – 7:00pm: Tahoe National Brewing Co. Gelande Quaffe throwing, catching and drinking beer event at 850 N Lake Blvd, Unit 21 in Tahoe City.
5:00pm – 9:00pm: Bridge Tender Fat Friday 3 Point Jam at 65 W Lake Blvd, Tahoe City where teams of 4 will compete in a bracket style tournament shooting hoops.
5:00pm – 10:00pm: Jake’s on the Lake live music and Sushi at 780 N Lake Blvd., Tahoe City.
7:00pm – 11:00pm: Milk Jug Curling Finals at the Tahoe City Winter Sports Park at 251 N Lake Blvd in Tahoe City. Join the party at Café Zenon – no tickets required.
8:00pm – 11:00pm: Live music with The Connor Party at the Tahoe National Brewery located at 850 N Lake Blvd in Tahoe City.
Saturday, March 8: Start the day with the North Tahoe PUD Pancake Breakfast at the North Tahoe event center located at 8318 N Lake Blvd, Kings Beach. There’ll be live music along with a delicious breakfast. Register in advance at www.northtahoerecreation.com
Saturday, March 8: The Annual Alaskan Open Snow Golf Tournament is from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the Tahoe City Golf Course located at 251 N Lake Blvd in Tahoe City. The fee is $50 per player with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Gateway Mountain Center.
Saturday, March 8: The Kings Beach SNOWFEST Parade will be held from 11:30am to 12:30pm. It will start at Secline Street and end at Racoon Street in Kings Beach. Entries for over 30 local community organizations and businesses will feature costumes floats and live music! After, it’s the 3rd annual keg rolling races through an outdoor obstacle course – costumes are given bonus points.
Sunday, March 9: Dogs of all breeds and sizes compete against the clock at the “I-Did-A-Run Dog Race” – a benefit for the Humane Society of Truckee. It will be held at the Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Resort located at 11603 Snowpeak Way in Truckee from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. The entry fee is $25 per dog and includes a good bag for each competing dog. In addition, there will be a raffle for participants and spectators with a chance to win great prizes.
Sunday, March 9: The River Ranch Snow Sculpture contest is the closing event of SNOWFEST. It will be held from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at the River Ranch Lodge located at 2285 River Rd in Tahoe City.
