Get ready for 3-days of excitement at the White Pine County Fairgrounds Aug 16 to 18!
The events include the oldest horse racing event in Nevada, 3 days of live music, BBQ, crafts, vendors, 4H exhibits and livestock auctions. Plus, at the Rancho Rodeo, there will be bronc riding, barrel racing, roping and even mutton busting for the kids.
In 1934, the horse races were originally formed by local ranchers and business people in an effort to overcome the depression blues. In 1937, the county formed a Fair Board and one year later, they built a new racetrack and grandstand which are still in use today.
The live action racing of thoroughbreds and quarter horses are complete with pari-mutuel betting, bar and concessions. The post time is 3pm on Friday and 1pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Admission is FREE on Friday and just $5.00 Saturday and Sunday. For more information, visit https://elynevada.net/white-pine-county-fair-and-horse-races/
