It’s the 36th annual World Championship Outhouse Races, October 4 to 5 in historic Virginia City!

The looniest outhouse competition has costume facers and their themed outhouses racing two at a time down C Street.

This is the only outhouse race in the U.S. that began as a political protest when the use of outdoor toilets was banned.  Angry residents pushed and dragged their outhouses to the town hall.

During your trip, have some fun visiting the unique gift shops, a nice lunch and a drink at one of the local saloons.  The event is from 12 pm to 4 pm, and admission is free!
