The center’s staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable!  They provide practical information for visitors including maps, brochures and information about the recreational opportunities including camping and hiking trails in the area.

There is a fantastic gift shop with unique souvenirs, t-shirts, informational books, Native American fine arts and crafts; there are great treasures for people of all ages.

The Alan Bible Visitor Center is named in honor of Alan Bible, a U.S. Senator from Nevada who served from 1954 to 1974.  The facility is proudly dedicated to him on June 10th, 1977, by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service.  It was in appreciation of his wise counsel to the National Park Service; his unsurpassed record of achievement in securing passage of legislation protecting the natural resources of the United States and providing for the recreational enjoyment of the American people.  Most importantly for his relentless efforts on behalf of Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

The visitor center is open 7 days a week from 9:00am to 4:30pm.  Make sure to include this stop as part of your Lake Mead experience!
