Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park is located on the shores of Lake Tahoe, the largest alpine lake in North America.  Sitting atop the Sierra Nevada Mountain range, the park offers stunning views of the famous lake, surrounding mountains and forests. Its diverse range of landscapes range from beautiful beaches to breathtaking meadows. 

Visitors enjoy a wide variety of recreational activities including swimming, boating, fishing, hiking and picnicking in addition to abundant wildlife. The park is a perfect escape for those seeking outdoor adventures combined with scenic beauty.

Throughout the year, there are many events held in the Lake Tahoe area with snow skiing, snowboarding and holiday festivities at local ski resorts, sleigh and carriage rides and the annual SNOWFEST during winter.  In the summer, there’s the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival and South Lake Tahoe Lakeview Concerts in addition to running competitions and many other activities in between. 

There are four State Parks at Lake Tahoe: Sand Harbor, Spooner Lake and Backcountry, Van Sickle and Cave Rock.  Be sure to check ahead of time for current entrance fees and reservations, if required, especially for those camping.  For fishing enthusiasts, make sure you have the proper license.

Make sure your batteries are fully charged, bring lots of water, snacks and sun protection.  Also, the weather can change quickly so bring layered clothing.  And always remember, watch out for bears!
