Corn Creek

Las Vegas

About

Corn Creek is a great place for visitors to go wildlife searching and viewing!   Departing Las Vegas, take Hwy 95 North for 10 miles until you spot the sign for Corn Creek Road.  You will spot the sign “Desert National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center” with an arrow to the right.   Located in the Las Vegas Wash at 2,854 feet above sea level, you can see the Sheep Range, Fossil Ridge, Castle Rock and the Gass Peak of the Las Vegas Range to the east; and to the west, you will see the Spring Mountains.

To the northeast up Corn Creek Road, you will find the Corn Creek Campsite and the Desert National Wildlife Refuge Center.  Dirt roads from the center provide access to the Sheep Range, the Las Vegas Range and the Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument.

When you get to the end of Corn Creek Road, you can choose to go left to Alamo or right to Mormon Well Road which takes you out to Coyote Springs on Hwy 93.

For a day of off-road fun, be sure to bring your binoculars, cameras (with fully charged batteries), plenty of water and food, plus layered clothing as you can travel to fairly high altitudes depending on your route.
